FOXO4-DRI regulates endothelial cell senescence via the P53 signaling pathway

Summary
Looked at FOXO4-DRI in blood-vessel ageing. Injection into naturally aged and progeroid mice was associated with reduced markers of aortic ageing and improved aortic function. In cultured endothelial cells made senescent by oxygen-glucose deprivation, the peptide reduced senescence and improved cell function; co-immunoprecipitation experiments indicated it blocks FOXO4 binding to p53, leading to p53 nuclear export and caspase-3-mediated apoptosis of senescent cells.
