Tirzepatide alleviates hepatic steatosis and inflammation in MASLD partly through suppression of macrophage Dectin-1/Syk/NF-kB signaling

He Y, Ma T, Xing H, et al. (2026). European Journal of Pharmacology.

Summary

A mouse and cell study of tirzepatide in diet-induced fatty liver disease (MASLD). Tirzepatide improved metabolic markers, liver injury and liver fat in the mice and reduced liver macrophage numbers, Dectin-1 expression and Syk/p65 phosphorylation; the authors suggest the effect works partly through that macrophage pathway. This is an animal and cell study; it does not test people. The authors declare no competing interests.
