Summary
A phase 2, randomised, double-blind, placebo-controlled human trial in 111 adults with type 1 diabetes and a BMI of 27 or more. For 16 weeks they received a once-daily GLP-1/GIP dual agonist peptide, acmopatide (CT-868), or placebo. Body weight fell by 3.3 to 6.7% with acmopatide, against a 0.3% gain on placebo, and insulin doses fell. No diabetic ketoacidosis or severe hypoglycaemia was reported. Acmopatide is an investigational drug. Funded by Carmot Therapeutics.
