Endothelium-dependent nitric oxide-mediated vasorelaxant effects of BPC 157 in human internal mammary artery

Yildirim AK, Dastan AO, Demeli Ertus M, et al. (2026). Journal of Clinical Medicine.

Summary

An ex vivo study of residual internal mammary artery segments from 12 bypass patients. BPC 157 produced a concentration-dependent reduction in contraction, larger in rings with intact endothelium, and the effect was weakened by a nitric oxide synthase inhibitor. The authors describe it as early mechanistic evidence and call for further molecular and in vivo work.
